Committees

At Escuelita del Alma, parent involvement strengthens our community and enriches our children's experience. Our parent committees offer various ways to contribute based on your interests, skills, and availability.

Why Join

  • Enrich Your Child’s Experience

When parents participate in school life, children develop a deeper connection to their learning environment. Seeing you value and contribute to their school community reinforces the importance of education and strengthens their sense of belonging. Your involvement—whether occasional or regular—demonstrates your investment in their daily world.

  • Share Your Unique Perspective

Every parent brings valuable skills, cultural knowledge, and experiences that can enhance our school community. Whether you have expertise in gardening, a passion for storytelling, professional skills in event planning, or simply enthusiasm for creating community, your contributions make Escuelita a more vibrant, diverse learning environment.

  • Build Lasting Connections

Committee participation creates meaningful relationships with other families and staff beyond brief drop-off interactions. These connections provide support through the parenting journey, create playdate opportunities for children across classrooms, and foster the intergenerational community that makes Escuelita feel like an extended family rather than just a school.

Escuelita del Alma Committees

Adelante Escuelita

Established in 2024, Adelante Escuelita serves as the non-profit extension of our school community with a powerful mission at its heart: creating equitable access to quality bilingual early childhood education. Through our dedicated scholarship fund, Adelante works to remove financial barriers that might otherwise prevent diverse families from experiencing the rich cultural and developmental benefits of Escuelita del Alma's program. This initiative reflects our core belief that language immersion, cultural connection, and nurturing early education should be accessible to children across diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, enriching not only individual lives but also strengthening our entire school community through greater diversity and inclusion.

Room Parents

The Room Parents Committee creates vital connections between families, teachers, and the broader Escuelita community. As one of these dedicated volunteers, you serve as communication bridges for your classroom, helping coordinate classroom needs, special events, and teacher appreciation activities.

Room Parents also facilitate family engagement, welcoming new parents, organizing occasional social gatherings, and fostering the warm, supportive environment that defines Escuelita. By strengthening relationships within each classroom, this committee helps build our community from the inside out, ensuring every family feels connected, informed, and valued within our diverse environment.

Media & Outreach

The Media & Outreach Committee amplifies Escuelita's unique voice and vision within both our immediate community and the broader Austin area. These creative volunteers manage our digital presence through social media, website updates, and email communications, while also developing compelling content that showcases our bilingual curriculum, cultural celebrations, and educational philosophy. Through thoughtfully crafted storytelling and strategic community partnerships, this committee increases awareness of Escuelita's distinctive approach to early childhood education, helps attract families who share our values, and positions our school as a leader in bilingual early learning, ultimately supporting the long-term sustainability of our beloved institution.

Alumni Relations

The Alumni Relations Committee preserves and nurtures the extended Escuelita family that spans decades of graduates and their parents. By maintaining connections with former students and families through special events, communications, and reunion opportunities, this committee creates a powerful legacy network that benefits both current and past community members.

Alumni families offer mentorship, volunteer support, and institutional memory that enriches Escuelita's present while honoring its history. This committee recognizes that the Escuelita experience extends far beyond a child's enrollment years, creating lifelong bonds to language, culture, and community that continue to flourish long after graduation.
